Sonde Locators

A sonde is a small, self-contained transmitter you push into a non-metallic pipe or drain so it can be located and pinpointed from the surface with a CAT or locator. Sondes are how you find the plastic pipes, clay drains and empty ducts that an electromagnetic locator cannot detect on its own.

Choose the frequency to match the job: a 512Hz sonde cuts through cast iron and tight bends for drains, while 33kHz reaches greater depth in open ground.
