Give the locator a signal to follow

Use Genny4 when you want to trace a suitable service rather than relying only on existing power or radio signals. Direct connection and compatible clamp modes provide simultaneous 33 kHz and 131 kHz signals; induction uses the 33 kHz signal. Choose the method appropriate to the service and site, following the operating instructions.

Build around the equipment you own

Add a compatible Genny clamp when a direct connection is unsuitable. Check the clamp diameter against the service. The direct-connection accessories and earth-return arrangement also matter: a signal generator, receiver and correctly chosen method work together as a system.

New stock suits buyers who prefer unused equipment. The refurbished Genny4 is a lower-cost alternative with a 12-month warranty and 12-month calibration.

Choose the compatible CAT4 locator

A Genny applies the signal; the compatible receiver traces it. For core route tracing, compare the new CAT4 or refurbished CAT4. For estimated depth in Genny mode, compare the new CAT4+ and refurbished CAT4+. If your team also needs usage and location records, compare the new gCAT4+ and refurbished gCAT4+. New or refurbished condition does not add a feature that the locator model lacks.

Build a compatible locating system

Match the transmitter, receiver, signal frequency and mechanical connection to the application. Use compatible equipment together and follow the manufacturer instructions and your site’s safe system of work.
