The Radiodetection FlexiTrace 50m is an advanced solution for utility professionals needing to trace the route of non-metallic pipes or locate specific collapses in restricted environments. Equipped with 50 meters of 5mm diameter flexible rod, this system is specifically engineered to navigate internal pipe diameters as narrow as 12mm, where standard sondes or larger diameter equipment cannot operate.
Also available: Radiodetection FlexiTrace 80m.
What is the minimum pipe diameter for the FlexiTrace 50m?
The FlexiTrace 50m is highly specialized for restricted environments, permitting access to pipes as small as 12mm. This makes it a critical tool for tracing small-bore conduits and pinpointing blockages that larger Flexrods cannot reach.
Can the entire length of the FlexiTrace rod be detected?
Yes, unlike using a standalone sonde, the FlexiTrace features internal conducting wires that allow the entire 50m length to be detected from above ground. This capability provides a comprehensive layout of the pipe's route rather than just identifying the end point.
How is the FlexiTrace 50m energized?
The rod is energized by connecting it to a Radiodetection transmitter or Genny. Once connected, the rod emits a signal along its full length, which is then tracked using a compatible electromagnetic locator for precise horizontal and vertical positioning.

Accessories Section
- To track the signal emitted by the FlexiTrace, pair it with a precision Radiodetection RD8200 Precision Cable Locator.
- Energize the rod for full-length line tracing using the Radiodetection TX10B Transmitter.
- For general avoidance tasks in small pipes, the system is compatible with the Radiodetection GENNY4 Signal Generator.
- If longer distances are required in larger pipes, consider the Radiodetection Flexrod.
- For additional end-point detection options, view our range of Radiodetection Sondes.
