A locator and signal generator that work together

The CAT follows a detectable signal; the Genny4 applies one to a suitable service. This gives you an active locating method alongside Power and Radio detection. Select direct connection, compatible clamp application or induction for the job, following the manufacturer instructions. An initial Avoidance-mode sweep does not replace the complete survey procedure.

Estimated depth in Genny mode plus usage records and GPS/GNSS location logging. GPS records where the locator was used; it is not survey-grade utility mapping. Depth readings, where supported, are estimates and do not establish safe clearance for excavation.

SWING warning alerts to excessive movement, and CALSafe provides a calibration lockout setting. GPS usage records support operator and fleet review. These aids do not replace training, a complete survey or safe excavation procedures.

A carry bag is not included in this clamp bundle’s base package. Calibration certificates are optional paid extras selected in the existing options panel; they are not included in the base price.

Build around the included equipment

The included 100 mm Genny clamp connects to the transmitter for appropriate clamp application. Do not add another clamp unless you need a spare or different size.

For non-metallic pipes, a Standard 33 kHz sonde or S18A sonde provides a locatable point; check frequency, fittings and route clearance. A 60 m Flexrod or 120 m Flexrod pushes a suitable sonde. To apply a signal along a conductive rod instead, compare FlexiTrace 50 m and FlexiTrace 80 m.

For transport, consider the CAT-and-Genny carry bag separately; it is not listed in this clamp bundle.

Why choose a new locating kit?

New equipment suits a preference for unused stock or new-only procurement. If initial cost is the priority, compare the refurbished gCAT4+ and Genny4 kit with 12-month warranty and 12-month calibration.
