Apply the locating signal through a clamp

The clamp is a Genny accessory, not a standalone detector and not an accessory that connects directly to the CAT receiver. It couples the transmitter signal onto a suitable service so the separate locator can trace it. Check that the service fits the clamp and that the jaws can close as required.

Use the correct connection method

Choose clamp operation within the manufacturer instructions and the site safe system of work. It is one signal-application option, not a required accessory for every direct connection. Work involving electrical services requires appropriately qualified personnel and suitable procedures.

Choose the compatible CAT4 locator

Connect the clamp to a compatible Genny transmitter; use a receiver to trace the applied signal. For core route tracing, compare the new CAT4 or refurbished CAT4. For estimated depth in Genny mode, compare the new CAT4+ and refurbished CAT4+. If your team also needs usage and location records, compare the new gCAT4+ and refurbished gCAT4+. New or refurbished condition does not add a feature that the locator model lacks.
