The Dart Flexitrace 6mm x 100m Pipe Tracer System is a specialized tool engineered for the precise location and depth determination of buried non-metallic services. How does the Sonde Location mode operate?
In Sonde Location mode, a Signal Generator is attached to both terminals of the unit to energise the end coil housing. This allows the 9mm x 75mm tip to be located as a traditional sonde using a compatible cable avoidance tool to identify precise termination points or obstructions.
Can this system trace the entire length of a pipe?
Yes, by connecting one terminal to the Signal Generator and the other to an earth stake, the rod performs Line Location. This enables the operator to trace the entire path of the non-metallic pipe or duct along its full 100-metre length.
What are the physical and environmental limitations?
This system is effective in pipes with a diameter as small as 12mm and can achieve a depth range of up to 3 metres depending on soil conditions. The rod is protected by a polypropylene sheath and requires no internal batteries, operating entirely on the signal provided by an external 33kHz generator.
